J is for jack-o-lanterns

J is for jack-o-lanterns. For two weeks we have been trying to carve our pumpkins but things just continue to come up. This is the last weekend before Halloween so everything has to be finished. I'm not sure if I want to carve a classic face on mine or if I want to try doing something more complex.

Leave your ideas in the comments.

Meet The Mormons

I was able to go see the movie Meet the Mormons last week. It was a good movie. I am definitely glad I went. For those who have not heard about this movie, it is a documentary on Mormons and the stories of members from around the world. Each story is different. All of the stories were moving but one story hit me hard. Probably since I relate to the women in a lot of ways. I would suggest the movie to anyone. It isn't a preaching movie. It is simply informational.

Behind The Scenes

I am back again to share more about myself with you.

Would you rather take pictures or be in pictures?
I would rather be the one taking pictures. I love having something to keep track of memories.

What did you most enjoy doing this past week?
Last week I got to take all the kids to a corn maze and pumpkin patch not to far from us. It was a lot of fun they had slides made out of giant pipes and a corn bag toss for the kids. Unfortunately we went on a day right after it had rained so the maze was extremely muddy. We are going to try and make it a yearly thing though.

What is your greatest extravagance?
My greatest extravagance is probably buying things for my daughter. When I see something she would like it is hard for me not to just get it for her.

Which letter of the alphabet describes you best?
I have no idea! I have never thought about this before.

Bonus Question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
To see what I am grateful for last week click here and read my Thankful Thursday post. This week I am looking forward to birthdays. There are a lot of birthdays in my family in the month of October.

Leave your answers to these questions in the comments.

I hope you all enjoy reading my blog.

Five Minute Friday: Long

The Five Minute Friday word this week is: long.

GO
Long distance relationships are hard. Even if the relationship is not romantic but a friendship. My best friend lives about 5 hours away. Even though that isn't extremely far it is far enough where we don't get to see each other as much anymore. Before she moved we easily saw each other every other week if not more. We usually talk on the phone at least every other day. However this week we have not talked at all. Both of us have become busy and it can get challenging.  I miss her very much! Don't let distance get in the way of a relationship. As long as the relationship is strong enough distance doesn't change a thing. Communication is key. I look forward to the years to come as my best friend and I continue to grow in our own lives with each other as friends as well.

Steve

I am so thankful this week for my husband to be. He has been very supportive over many decisions I have made in the last two years. He is amazing with my daughter especially on weeks like this one when I have a migraine that I can not break for days. He has been working very hard lately on making sure our wedding is the way I want it to be. I can not say thank you enough for everything he does for me.

I love you Steve!

Dreamy

This weeks photo challenge is to post something that is dreamy to me. A photo of a place often in my dreams or a scene that looks out-of-this world.

I took this picture about a month ago right after a big rain storm. It is not often that you get to see a double rainbow. Rainbows remind me that there is light after the storm. Its hard not to smile when you see a rainbow.

Fright Night

This weeks prompt is: Fright night. Do you like being scared by books, films, and surprises? Describe the sensation of being scared, and why you love it — or don’t.

I hate being scared. My favorite out of the three choices listed in the question would have to be scary books. Reading about scary things is not the same as watching something happen. However, I love watching scary movies. Only when I have someone to watch them with though. I freak out and hide in a blanket or someones shoulder. Sometimes I try to make fun of what is going on in the movie.

Leave your answer to the prompt in the comments.

I is for iPhone

The new iPhone came out last month and people seem to have been having some issues with them. I have always loved Apple products. I have the old iPhone model, an iPad, and a Mac laptop. I have heard and seen videos of the new iPhones bending. I find it quite funny. It takes a lot of effort and force to bend the iPhone. I think that most of the iPhones that we have heard of bending were because the owner was testing the rumor. In addition, wouldn't most people put cases on their phones. I thought I would share my thoughts on this situation.

Does anyone have the new iPhone? If so, have you had any issues with it?

Church Service

I have been doing an awful job at attending church recently. Life has had its twists and turns lately. I am hoping to start making church a more regular thing. It is so hard to get back into the habit every week when I have been out of it for a while. My goal from now till the end of November is to attend at least 90% of services.

Memory

For some reason last weeks questions wouldn't pull up when I went to write my blog so I chose a random set of questions. Since they show up now I am going to answer share this weeks and last weeks answers with you.

You're given $500,000 tax free (any currency), what do you spend it on?
I would do a lot of things with that much money. I would put at least half of it in savings. I would pay off any debt I might have. I would buy a new car. Most importantly I would pay for my dream wedding. The rest of what I didn't put in savings would go into a college fund for my daughter.

What is the finest education?
Going to a college that specializes in the field you want to work in.

What kind of art is your favorite? Why?
Music is my favorite kind of art. I use music in my life daily. Music makes me happy.

Is there something that you memorized long ago and still remember?
In the fifth grade we had a contest during our Christmas party to see who could memorize Twas' the night before Christmas. I still know it to this day.

Did you ever get lost?
I get lost every once in a while. I have a photographic memory so once I have been there I do pretty well at finding it again.

Who was your best friend in elementary school?
My best friends name was Tayler. We had been friends since we were three. We did everything together.

Since the new television seasons have started in the US, list three favorite TV shows.
This one is a hard one. i watch a lot of shows. Top three currently is probably Bones, Revenge, and Once Upon A Time.

If you were a mouse in your house in the evening, what would you see your family doing?
We would be playing video games or watching TV.

Bonus Question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
To see what I am grateful for last week click here and read my Thankful Thursday post. This week I am looking forward to going to a corn maze with all the kids.

Five Minute Friday: Care

This weeks Five Minute Friday word is care.

GO
It is amazing how showing someone you care can change the way they act or their attitude towards certain things. Recently I have come across a situation where just showing the person that I care about what is going on in their life and caring about them as a person has made them a nicer person. It is always hard when you feel like you are going through something alone. There are so many ways you can show someone you care. Write them a note, ask them how their day went, be a shoulder to cry on, maybe even just an ear for listening. I can't tell you enough how many times I am feeling down and my best friend calls to say hi.
STOP

Show someone you care this week, you never know how much better you could make their day.

Support

I am thankful for the support team I have for making a healthier life style for myself. I have been struggling with staying focused on my meal plan and following through in the last week. It was very encouraging when my beach body coach told me that my meal plan looked good and to share it with our group. I am going to keep my head up and continue to push even if I don't make it every day.

Signs

This weeks photo challenge is to share an image of a sign. Last week on Kate Motaung's Five Minute Friday post she shared a website where you can make a sign. You can put together signs that mean something to you. I thought these would be really cool for people that like art since you can combine different types of letters to make your sign. You can click here to check out the signs.

Here is what my sign would say:

Exhale

This week's topic is: Exhale. Tell us about a time when everything seemed to be going wrong — and then, suddenly, you knew it would be alright.

When I found out that I was pregnant I was a freshman in college. It was not an ideal situation. As the pregnancy progressed my life took turns that I did not expect. Towards the end I thought the world was ending. I was scared to bring a baby into the world and was not sure what I was going to do. Then the time came.... she was born and I knew everything was going to be fine. She was perfect in every way. I knew I could handle everything that was to come. All my problems seemed to be gone. Now here I am three years later and am more in love with her then ever.

Tell me below about the time when everything seemed wrong and then you knew things would be fine.

H is for Halloween

Halloween is right around the corner. I can not believe it is already October. I spent a couple days last week decorating the house for Halloween. It is the first year I have gotten to decorate my own place. It was so much fun. I am very excited to see the collection grow over the next few years. I get to take kids trick-or-treating this year and we already have their costumes ready. My daughter keeps telling me she is ready for her basket to have candy in it.

What is your favorite part of Halloween?

Personal Foundation

The missionaries stopped by tonight for dinner and shared a scripture with us afterwords. They also challenged us to think about how our life is affected when we put our faith in Christ. The scripture that they read was from The Book of Mormon. Helaman 5:12 reads "And now, my son, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall." I want to try and do better with building my foundation. Maybe one day I will be able to share my experience and journey of getting to the end of my build.

Bucket List

I am back again to share more about myself with you.

If you had to move to a country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why?
I would move to Australia. I have written a few posts about why I want to go to Australia but I really think it would be a nice change in scenery. It would be really awesome to see all the different animals.

Music or silence while working?
Definitely music. I hate working in silence. My head wanders into to many different places.

What is your favorite color?
Blue is my favorite color. My favorite shade is probably between a light blue and royal blue.

Do you have a bucket list? What are your top three items? A bucket list are things you want to do before you die.
I do have a bucket. My top three items would be to visit Australia, go sky diving, and swim with dolphins.

Bonus Question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
To see what I am grateful for last week click here and read my Thankful Thursday post. This week I am looking forward to possibly starting my youtube channel back up.

Five Minute Friday: New

Another week of taking five minutes out of my day to join the lovely people in the five minute friday community to write.

This weeks word is new.

GO
Everyday is a new day. Some days better then others. Lately my days have been on the better side and I hope they stay that way. There are many habits that I want to change but I keep telling myself tomorrow is a new day I will start then. Most of the time I don't do that though. I just continue to push it off one more day. It is a new month full of exciting events and first time things for me. A whole new world in other words. I want to develop these ne habits this month and I am going to start now.
STOP

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you see the word new.

Mother

This week I am thankful for my mother. I am lucky to have her in my life. This week she made a difficult decision to give me what I wanted for my wedding. I am so excited. We have decided on a beautiful venue on a golf course. They have a barn area that is one of the major things that drew me to this place. I can't wait to see how everything else comes together.

Nighttime

This weeks photo challenge is about nighttime. It is difficult to take photos st night but they can be very cool if you can pull it off.

This picture was taken at The Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado during the Zac Brown Band concert. This is one of my favorite venues to see concerts at. It is definitely worth the hike up to the seats.
