Curmudgeons

Today people are celebrating or laughing about Free Thinkers Day, Corn Chip Day, Puzzle Day, and Curmudgeons Day. Free Thinkers Day started because today is Thomas Pains birthday. Corn Chip Day and Puzzle Day are both self explanatory. Today I am going to share Curmudgeons Day. If you want to read more details on the other three go to daysoftheyear.com.

When I first saw Curmudgeons Day I didn't know what the word even meant. For those anyone else who doesn't know the meaning as well, it means, a bad-tempered or surly person. Believe it or not this is an official holiday. Some people use it as an excuse to be in a bad mood and miserable. Others believe you should just stay home and do nothing. You do not have to be grumpy to celebrate it. You can mess with your friends and family or make it a goal to make a curmudgeon you know laugh or smile. Read more about it on the website above.

Has anyone else heard of the "holiday" before? If so, do you participate?

I really hope you all enjoy reading my blog. Please leave comments with suggestions or thoughts.

Looking Through ...

Have you ever looked into someones eyes and see your reflection. I have been doing a lot of reflecting lately. Sometimes it helps to get a fresh perspective on a subject.

What do you think about when you see this picture?

Movies and Music

I know I have talked about music a lot in the past. One of the other activities I love participating in is going to the movies. Im not sure if it is the popcorn or the limited distractions that draws me in but I love it! There are movies coming out this year that I am extremely excited for. One of which is already out, Night At The Museum, but I am waiting for it to hit our dollar movie theater. I loved those when I was younger and I am interested to see where they take this one.
Some movies I am excited for this year are:
Inside Out
Insurgent
Black or White
50 Shades of Grey
The Boy Next Door
The Wedding Ringer
Pitch Perfect 2

Most of which are out right now or come out soon.

What movie are you looking forward to this year?

Week 4 Struggling

I thought I did pretty good this week. However the scale didn't think so. Good news is I stayed at the same weight as last week, 237 lbs. Bad news I didn't lose any more. I am going to try to add more workouts into my schedule this week and continue eating well. By this weekend I should be able to add running back in to my weekly workouts too. This morning I had Eggs and Toast for breakfast. I also improved my water intake which is an ongoing struggle for me.

Any suggestions to keep the weight coming off?

I really hope you all enjoy reading my blog. Please leave comments with suggestions or thoughts.

Burning Down The House

Today's prompt is: Burning Down The House. Your home is on fire. Grab five items (assume all people and animals are safe). What did you grab?

With assuming everyone in the house is safe it makes this a little bit harder.

This is what I first thought of.
1. File of important documents in my file cabinet
2. Purse
3. My computer
4. Phone
5. Blanket

My computer doesn't seem like an important thing to grab but it has tons of pictures on it from my life that I would want to save.

What would you grab if your home was on fire?

Share My World Week 4

Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?

I had a hard time answering this one. I would probably want Chef Gordon Ramsay. I love watching Hell's Kitchen and Master Chef. It would be awesome to have him possibly give me cooking tips and ideas.

When did you last sing to yourself? To someone else?
I sing to myself constantly. Especially when I am in the car alone. I got a karaoke machine for Christmas. When we mess around with it I pretend to be singing to people in the room. Most of the time it is jokingly though.

If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one quality or ability, what would it be?

I would wake up with the quality to stay motivated. I would love working out to be in my daily routine and me not be in so much pain after.

What, if anything, is too serious to be joked about?

I don't like when people joke around about death. Especially when it is regarding their own death.

Bonus Question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am grateful for the members of my church. They have been so supportive and helpful. I am looking forward to my fiancĂ© being home for the first time since the 9th.

Leave your answers to these questions in the comments.

I hope you all enjoy reading my blog.

Five Minute Friday: Share

This weeks word is share.

GO

I laughed so hard when I saw the word for this weeks post. My daughter got a Sesame Street video game for Christmas. One of the episodes in the game is about sharing. Since she likes that episode the best I have had the song stuck in my had all day. I would say that sharing was one of the hardest lessons to teach my daughter. When she was little it was just me and her and when she started playing with other children she didn't want them anywhere near her toys. In the last six months she has definitely got better at sharing and she knows no matter what her toys will always be hers but it is nice to let her friends use them when they visit.

STOP
